Record Store Day 21.04.2012 @DiscoFrisco


Rare vinyl covers ever seen and a great desire not to let the past disappear. For the fifth year running back on "Record Store Day", the day that celebrates independent record stores. Pure Imagination

LP of the day is Pure Imagination by Stylophonic.

Stylophonic, stage name of Stefano Fontana (Milan, October 2, 1970), is an Italian DJ.
His career began in 1987 and Plastic in Milan.
His work as a producer begins almost simultaneously with the activity of DJ, making it immediately familiar to lovers of music and bringing it to shoot the best Italian and European clubs.
Still very young, he enrolled at the school for audio engineers with the aim to become a DJ.



In 1987, Stephen began working for Plastic in Milan. After 3 years joins the international DJ circuit, "International Jocks".
Fontana in 2003 released his first album, Man Music Technology, Stylophonic through the project, launched by the Hit If Everybody In The World Loved Everybody In The World and the next single Soulreply. The album shows a sound very close to acid, which is the Electro, and launches Fontana as one of the best DJs in Europe.
The second album, BeatBox Show, released in 2006 and differs from the first by a sound described by many cocme "much more homogeneous and closer to the House the eighties." The lead single Baby Beat Box summarizes very well the sound of the album, and the CD earns a lot more successful than the first job. Another hit single is Pure Imagination, which is performed with a sample eponymous song by American artist Lou Rawls.




Fontana has recently produced several songs just for commercials. In addition to Baby Beat Box and Dancefloor, appeared in ads for Dolce & Gabbana Time in 2005 and 2006, are also visible R'U Experience (again for D & G in 2007) and Oh, My Gold (used by Citroen to launch the C3 Gold in 2008).
Fontana has worked with the best local and also globally is still resident DJ to General Stores in Milan and at Amnesia Ibiza.
Collaboration as producer with Jovanotti (for the single (So) and the album ³ Good blood) has greatly increased its popularity and in 2008 he continued his activities as a producer, working on albums and contacts Bugo Psychodelice Meg.

Record Exhibition

Several songs were released as singles before the album's release. "Waters of Nazareth" was the first single released by the group in 2005 and also featured "Let There Be Light" as its B-side. "D.A.N.C.E." was the second single from the album and released on April 23, 2007. The single also featured the song "Phantom", which was also released on the Ed Rec Vol. 2 compilation album prior to the release of the album. The song "D.A.N.C.E." is about and dedicated to Michael Jackson.

The album was nominated for Best Electronic/Dance Album ultimately losing to The Chemical Brothers, Best Dance Recording ("D.A.N.C.E."), and Best Video ("D.A.N.C.E") for the 50th Grammy Awards. The Sauce(s) Make the Difference

Duck Sauce is an American-Canadian DJ duo consisting of Armand Van Helden and A-Trak.
In the summer of 2010, Duck Sauce released a track called "Barbra Streisand", named after the singer of the same name. The track heavily samples the 1979 song "Gotta Go Home" by Boney M, which itself is based upon the original tune "Hallo Bimmelbahn" by the German band Nighttrain. The famous hookline is written by Heinz Huth. "Barbra Streisand" was first played at Miami Winter Music Conference 2010, and gained heavy DJ and radio support in the UK and Ireland, Germany, Norway, Austria, Poland, France, Finland, Romania, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Sri Lanka. The song has since also moved to various commercial radio stations and has increased in popularity. In the UK it peaked at number 3.
