Pure Imagination

LP of the day is Pure Imagination by Stylophonic.

Stylophonic, stage name of Stefano Fontana (Milan, October 2, 1970), is an Italian DJ.
His career began in 1987 and Plastic in Milan.
His work as a producer begins almost simultaneously with the activity of DJ, making it immediately familiar to lovers of music and bringing it to shoot the best Italian and European clubs.
Still very young, he enrolled at the school for audio engineers with the aim to become a DJ.

In 1987, Stephen began working for Plastic in Milan. After 3 years joins the international DJ circuit, "International Jocks".

Fontana in 2003 released his first album, Man Music Technology, Stylophonic through the project, launched by the Hit If Everybody In The World Loved Everybody In The World and the next single Soulreply. The album shows a sound very close to acid, which is the Electro, and launches Fontana as one of the best DJs in Europe.

The second album, BeatBox Show, released in 2006 and differs from the first by a sound described by many cocme "much more homogeneous and closer to the House the eighties." The lead single Baby Beat Box summarizes very well the sound of the album, and the CD earns a lot more successful than the first job. Another hit single is Pure Imagination, which is performed with a sample eponymous song by American artist Lou Rawls.

Fontana has recently produced several songs just for commercials. In addition to Baby Beat Box and Dancefloor, appeared in ads for Dolce & Gabbana Time in 2005 and 2006, are also visible R'U Experience (again for D & G in 2007) and Oh, My Gold (used by Citroen to launch the C3 Gold in 2008).
Fontana has worked with the best local and also globally is still resident DJ to General Stores in Milan and at Amnesia Ibiza.
Collaboration as producer with Jovanotti (for the single (So) and the album ³ Good blood) has greatly increased its popularity and in 2008 he continued his activities as a producer, working on albums and contacts Bugo Psychodelice Meg.

Dire Straits, again!
Communiqué was recorded between November and December of 1978 at Compass Point Studios in Nassau and produced by Jerry Wexler and Barry Beckett. The album was the first LP ever to be entered in the German charts at number one in its first week of release (while their debut album Dire Straits was still at number three in that country). Communiqué has sold over 7 million copies worldwide. In Europe alone has sold 3.6 million copies in the U.S. and has earned a gold record.
The album was remastered and released with the entire catalog of Dire Sttraits in 1996 for the world market except the U.S.. On September 19, 2000 was also published for the American market. The album cover was created by an advertising agency that worked for Phonogram, Grant Advertising UK. The cover won the NME Award for Best Cover of 1979 year.

After the huge critical success, Dire Straits released their second album. I remember when I bought it in Radilux, the record store of Huelva, in the center. I was hoping to get home to put it. I liked the smell again. The plastic coating was virgin vinyl. He was also involved as a white envelope with the lyrics from the back and a picture of the band in black and white. How wonderful. Once removed from the case put in the well and gave the "start" and the arm began to move slowly and precise spiral groove first. Since it is not new to hear the clicks and within seconds begins to sound the Fender Knopfleriada a historical score is then repeated at the beginning of unprecedented concert Alchemy: "Once Upon a Time in the West ..." (5:25 minutes).

The second cut is beautiful: "News". 

The mimosa guitar starts to cry with emotion. The riffs are mixed with long notes and a commo soft touch. The technique is a unique brand that has played with three fingers, while the other two are increasingly focusing on the body of guiatarra. Mark does not usually look at the keys during the game, it is controlled. Sometimes it seems that does not move the fingers and the strings barroqueando is a very smart way. The issue ends with one of the original battery.

In reality, the other cuts are very good and very similar in their sweet and melodic rock. Knopfler writes well and nice, mixing themes of classic and contemporary literature and does it well, "Lady writter" is a good example of this, the choirs, the quick tap and torn and sweet voice of the singer makes a great song. "Angel of Mercy" for the mood of the rock band, a rock de luxe. The issue ends with a chorus sung by the whole band of increasing intensity in unison.

Dire Straits

Dire Straits is the self-titled debut album by British rock band Dire Straits, released in October 1978 (see 1978 in music) by Phonogram Records.
The single "Sultans of Swing" first broke the US top five early spring 1979 (being a hit a full five months after the album was released there) and then rose to #8 in the British charts. "Water of Love" was also released as a single in some countries, and charted in Australia, reaching #54, and in the Netherlands, reaching #28. In Europe, the album sold four million copies while in the U.S. it sold two million copies.
The album was remastered and released with the rest of the Dire Straits catalogue in 1996 to most of the world excluding the U.S. and on 19 September 2000 in the United States. For 2010 release of an anniversary album is planned. 

It will be devoted the 30 anniversary of the edition of a vinyl.

The cover image is taken from a painting by Chuck Loyola, while the Dire Straits Fender icon was designed by Geoff Halpern.

A small number of guitars were used on the album by Mark Knopfler. These included a pair of red Fender Stratocasters (one from 1961-serial number #68354 and one from 1961/62-serial number #80470). He played his 1928 National and 1937 National steel guitars on tracks "Water of Love" and "Wild West End", respectively. A black Fender thinline Telecaster was played on "Setting Me Up". Mark and David also played Mark's sunburst Fender Telecaster. There was also an unidentified acoustic guitar used on several tracks.

The original version of the album contained a slightly shorter version of "Sultans of Swing", omitting the last seconds of the guitar solo at the end of the song, but the full-length version was included on the remastered edition of the album.

Cassette versions of the album often featured the sides in reverse order to the original vinyl album: side A comprised tracks 6 through 9, while side B featured tracks 1 through 5. The French issue of the cassette saw "Down to the Waterline" and "Wild West End" interchanged in the order mentioned above to allow for a more equal playing time on each side.
